From small beginnings as a Queensland based sawmill 60 years ago, Wood Industries commenced  processing Australian plantation grown timber in the 70's and this long association with local grown plantation pine processing , supporting employment of Australians in regional areas, has developed into local manufacture of finger jointed and laminated products. Our carefully designed crafted wooden tables are the result of a process that respects the sustainability of the environment as much as it relies on the skills of our craftsmen.

All of our table tops are scrupulously produced from recovered, but high-grade plantation pine, effectively utilizing pieces of lumber that might otherwise have gone to waste. And we are pleased to say that pine we utilize is sourced from sustainable pine plantations in Australia, and production facilities placed in and supporting regional areas.

Sourcing our timber from logging and milling contractors who are certified as complying with risk management proceedures so that planting and harvesting have no  detrimental affect on native fauna and waterways. Furthermore, our commitment to the sustainability and protection of our environment includes the recycling of our wood shavings and dust, which is processed further into garden mulch, pine board and spill control to name a few.

As a carefully managed natural and renewable resource, pine lends itself ideally to the production of food serving   boards. Its relative strength, lightness and the ease with which it can be handled - and above all the natural beauty of this wood are reflected in the design of our attractive range of products.

These come in three different convenient sized serving trays,  either with or without handles, where they may be used in a traditional manner conveying dishes (either cold or hot), safely to the table or serving area. With attractive handles they can also serve as the ultimate platter boards enhancing the  presentation of your arrangement.  The hygienic and easy to clean nature of the oiled surface of these boards makes them the hosts choice.

Included in our product range we have our slimline folding pine single person desk, particularly useful in a student class room or multipurpose area. These can be opened out or put away in under 20 seconds. Again, produced from laminated pine and finished in  clear lacquer to help preserve the surface of the wood, and with no screws or other fiddly parts to negotiate, this folding wooden desk will be perfect for those occasions when time and space are at a premium.
